Benjamin Morgan Cowie, A descriptive catalogue of the manuscripts and scarce books in the library of St John's College, Cambridge (Cambridge, 1842-3). Issued by the Cambridge Antiquarian Society. For Cowie see ODNB. With manuscript annotations, corrections and additions in various hands, including those of William Keeling (librarian 1844-45), J.E.B. Mayor, John Spicer Wood (librarian c.1861-82), Frank Cherry (sub-librarian 1876-88), and Ernest William Lockhart (sub-librarian 1888-1911). A printed 'Catalogue of early printed classics in the library of St John's College, Cambridge' (1887) is tipped in at the front.

280 x 220 mm. 11 p.; vii, 162 p. Paper. Half binding of leather and marbled paper; gold-tooled spine with gilt-lettered labels reading 'Catalogue of St John's College. Cowie. Cambridge 1842.'

An inscription inside the upper board reads 'Presented to St John's College Library by the Rev. B.M. Cowie'.
