A-Level Results!

RESULTS, RESULTS, RESULTS!!!

Well, it's that time of year again: sunshine and tension with exam results declared, declaring or ready to be declared.

For those of you awaiting A-levels - and also those who have already received their results - this is what happens next!!!

On the afternoon of Thursday 17 August, here at St John's, we will be holding an Admissions Meeting to discuss all the results (that's both A-levels and other public examinations) and make final decisions about student numbers for entry in 2006 and those who applied for deferred entry in 2007.

If you have met the conditions of your offer, then it is simply a case of popping open the champagne and receiving congratulations. You will, of course, be notified in writing that your place has been confirmed - but that's just academic (as it were!).

For those of you who do not meet the conditions of your offer, the most important thing to remember is not to panic. We will contact you (or your school if we can't get hold of you directly) after the meeting on the 17th to let you know whether or not we've been able to confirm your place.  If we can't confirm your place, it is possible that your file may be put into the Summer Pool for consideration by other colleges.  If we are unable to confirm your place and you are not put in the Summer Pool, you will be told quickly so that you can contact your insurance offer.

We will do our very best to keep you informed of what is happening each step of the way.

We are very much aware that the next few weeks may be a time of smiles for some and tears for others, and we will try our best to ease your way forward whatever your results.

Remember, whatever happens, it is almost certain that this time next year you will be enjoying the new experience of student life and all this anxious waiting will be behind you!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck.
