Johnians in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2015

Eight Johnians have been featured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for 2015: Professor Elizabeth Anne Howlett Hall, Charles William Plant, Professor John Arnott Beath, Professor Christopher John Budd, Kevin Hollins, John Alexander Vincent, William Owain Walden-Jones, and Laura Carolyn Bates.

Professor Elizabeth Anne Howlett Hall (1988), Professor of Analytical Biotechnology, University of Cambridge, and Chair of Disability Snowsports UK, received a CBE for services to Higher Education and to Sport.

Charles William Plant (1963), Chair of the Solicitors Regulation Authority Board, received a CBE for services to Legal Education and Regulation.

Professor John Arnott Beath (1974), Emeritus Professor of Economics, University of St. Andrews, was awarded an OBE for services to Economics.

Professor Christopher John Budd (1979), Professor in Applied Mathematics, University of Bath, received an OBE for services to Science and Mathematics Education.

Kevin Hollins (1973), Principal of Knutsford Academy, Cheshire, was awarded an OBE for services to Education.

John Alexander Vincent (1990), Restauranteur, received an MBE for services to School Food.

William (Bill) Owain Walden-Jones (1977), Chief Executive of Hafal, was awarded an MBE for services to Mental Health Service Users and their Carers and Families.

Laura Carolyn Bates (2004), Founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, received a BEM for services to the Promotion of Gender Equality.
