Meeting current students at a College Open Day
There are a number of ways to experience the atmosphere of St John’s College at first hand.
Open Days
Our Open Days in June and July provide opportunities to tour the College and its accommodation, chat to current undergraduates, meet Directors of Studies, and to learn more about the Admissions process from Dr Helen Watson, the College’s Admissions Tutor.
Open Day Travel Fund
The University of Cambridge Open Day Travel Fund assists children in (or previously in) Care to travel to any of the open day events organised by the University and Colleges of Cambridge in 2011.
Sutton Trust Summer Schools
The Sutton Trust Summer Schools are free subject-specific residential courses for Year 12 (or equivalent) students from UK state-maintained schools, for which St John's is a host College.
Admissions Clinics
Admissions Clinics are usually held in Spring and are an opportunity for prospective students to meet the Admissions Tutor and Admissions staff informally. Clinics usually take place between 11.30am - 12.30pm. Available dates in 2012 as follows:

University Open Days
University Open Days in July offer the opportunity attend presentations that explain the Cambridge system, the application procedure and interviews, as well as sessions outlining student finance, support for students with a disability and the work of the careers service. There is also information about each Tripos, and the chance to visit Cambridge Colleges.
Department Open Days
It may be the case that you want to attend a Department Open Day, with a particular focus on a subject within a faculty or department. These are usually between March and July, and will often be held outside Colleges, in buildings housing a subject’s offices, lecture rooms and library. If you are coming to Cambridge for a Department Open Day, or for any other reason, do take the opportunity to visit St John’s and to meet the Admissions staff. The Admissions department keeps ‘drop-in’ hours when we will be happy to welcome you to St John’s and to answer any questions you might have.
