Curate-a-Shelf: 'Miracles of Rare Device'

'Miracles of Rare Device': Spiritualism, Surrealism, Mindfulness, & Meditation by Yanyue (Selena) Yuan

The title of this exhibition is taken from Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem Kubla Khan, which he wrote during a drug-induced reverie. Coleridge could not complete his poem, as the trance was interrupted by a visitor. The 'dream state' in human civilisation is easily subject to interruption as well. I sincerely hope that our spiritual world is still cherished and respected as 'miracles of rare device'.

The Library's first Curate-a-Shelf exhibition can be found in the lobby area, where viewers are invited to view the books on offer and leave any thoughts. Selena will be holding a 'private view' on Thursday 12th February from 17.15-18.15; for more information, contact yy346@cam.ac.uk.

The exhibition will run from 9th February to 2nd March.

If you would like to put on your own mini-exhibition, pick up a flyer from the exhibition or email rs829@cam.ac.uk for more information.
