Buttery Dining Room Weekend Supervisor

Do you want to help us look after some of the brightest and exciting leaders of the future in a beautiful and historical environment? Are you cheerful and enjoy dealing with people from all sorts of backgrounds? Are you hard working and thorough enough to make sure the job is done properly?

At St John's College we are looking for people who will do their best to understand the needs of the college and to put those needs first when they are at work. Because of this we believe that the attitude you bring to work and the way you choose to behave is as important as your skills and experience.

St John's College is looking to appoint a permanent, part-time Weekend Supervisor to work in the Buttery Dining Room to ensure the smooth operation of the Buttery Dining Room in terms of service of food to students, staff, Fellows and external customers and staff supervision. The hours will be worked in split shifts over Saturdays and Sundays (7.00am-2.00pm and 5.00-8.00pm each day).

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a similar role, with cash handling experience and an intermediate food hygiene certificate (although training will be given where required).

The College offers a competitive benefits package including membership of a contributory pension scheme, 14 days' annual leave for the 2-day work pattern, access to a 'cash plan' healthcare scheme currently provided by Simplyhealth, free meals on duty (up to a specified monetary limit), free use of an on-site gym and free parking close to the College site, subject to availability.

The closing date for the receipt of completed applications is 9.00 am on Tuesday 2 May 2017.  Interviews are expected to take place Thursday 11 May 2017.
